Heat Sinks 101
• The longest cooler you can fit in the available area
• Single vs dual pass: The efficiency is equal, the only difference is for your line routing, and which will fit best for the application
• There are Very few applications where this cooler is sufficient to run for a standalone transmission cooler (For a transmission cooler it is usually best to be used as an auxiliary cooler to replace sections of line for more volume)
• Ideal for fuel, power steering, and auxiliary transmission cooling with its lower BTU rating (Cooler Only, Power Steering & Transmission kits available)
• Fins extend into the fluid passage to constantly be extracting heat even if vehicle is stationary with little to no airflow going over the fins
• These units will add a significant amount of fluid volume to the system, which must be accounted for when filling up or topping off
• Coolers should NOT be painted as it will affect the thermal transfer properties and can lower the efficiency of the unit
• Orientation for the cooler does not matter, it will not affect the performance of the unit
• The only difference between a Power Steering Kit and a Transmission Cooler Kit is that each Transmission Cooler Kit comes with a Insta-Dapt 5/16" radiator fitting (Part No. 13004) in the kit
