Fan Controllers 101
• Many different styles of Fan Controllers can be used. It comes down to the amperage limits, desired operation style, temp sensor style, and number of fans being operated
• Most functionality problems stem from an improper or an insecure ground connection
• Thread-in sensors should not be stacked in bushings as that will cause the sensor to be too far out from fluid flow to be effective
• NEVER pull power from the starter, starter solenoid, or alternator. This will cause the controller to fail prematurely
• Sensor wires can be lengthened as much as needed with 22ga wire. There is no polarity to the wires as it is only resistance being carried
• Sensors are not interchangeable between units. They all use different thermistors and will not operate correctly if the wrong sensor is used
• Controllers do not need additional components to operate (such as relays or other parts not included in the kit). You may need more wire for installation
• All controllers are standalone and WILL NOT tie into any ECU, EFI, or PCM. This will cause operational issues and frustration
